*** Exciting news - It's here Ripon City Training Band ***

We are now running our training band on a Tuesday evening from 6:15pm to 7pm. It's going really well, everyone is making great progress, and we already have some booking in the diary for this year 

It's great to have such a wonderful bandroom to learn in. If you can read music, sing or play any instrument then why not pop by and take a look at what we can offer.

Ripon City Band

Located in the North Yorkshire city of Ripon, we are proud to be a Championship Section Brass Band. There has been a brass band in Ripon for many years and the current band’s history can be traced back to 1860.  The band is fortunate to have its own band room just outside Ripon in the village of Melmerby which is currently being renovated for our use. 

Ripon City Band is a traditional brass band; we enjoy playing hymns and marches but we are also comfortable playing overtures and popular music. This versatility ensures that we can perform at all kinds of different events and in any venue. We are equally at home under a bandstand or on a village green, inside a hotel or under canvas. We organise our own fundraising concerts but we are always happy to provide music for any event, however large or small, with a small ensemble or the full band, taking centre stage or providing the background music.
